- What does "food drop" mean?
Once per month, we get fresh ingredients from Japan 🇯🇵 shipped over to the United States 🇺🇸.
We then bake all of our orders on that date, vacuum-seal then, then ship them to using express shipping!
This way the comfort food you get is super fresh and full of flavor 🤤
- How long is shipping?
Express shipping is generally 3 to 8 days after we bake it on the food drop date. Pretty fast 🔥
- What is local shipping? What if I picked local shipping?
We're currently doing pop-up shops in different cities. For the month of September 2023, we're currently doing weekly popup shops in Detroit (Wayne County, MI).
If you picked local shipping, your order will be delivered on Saturday afternoon of the week you ordered. If you placed Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, or Friday, then your order will be delivered on Saturday of that same week. If you order exactly on Saturday, there's a chance your order will queued for the next week Saturday.
- What does "pre-order" mean?
Previously, anime fans used to have to stay up the night before our food drop, in order to order our food.
However, most anime fans were unable to buy our comfort food before it sold out in a few hours. So we now allow people to do pre-orders!
By pre-ordering, you place your order days in advance, in order you guarantee that you'll get whatever comfort food item you ordered once the food drop date arrives 💪
- Will the food come hot or cold? How do I ensure if the food is still edible once it arrives?
The food will come either frozen or room temperature. All food is vacuum-sealed in separate bags, so it’s able to stay fresh while shipping even in warm weather.
What we've figure out is that if any of your comfort food bags arrives filled with air, that means USPS/FedEx/UPS/DHL took too long to ship it. In these cases, contact our customer support for advice.
If there's no air in your bag, then your food is perfectly edible (once you reheat it) 🤤
However, some items are intentionally shipped with a tiny bit on purpose (e.g. soft dangos) in order to not crush/mis-shape the item. If you ever have any questions, simply contact us.
When you order food with meat in it, we'll normally use dry ice or gel packs wrapped around that specific comfort food.
- Why are the food bags black?
They used to be clear bags (as you've seen in a lot of earlier customer reviews).
Per the request of our "comfort food"-lovers, we've made them black in order for you to have fun guessing which comfort food you're biting into ❤️
We've added a secret code to every bag. If you text the secret code to +1(231)272-6463, you'll get response with which food item it is.
For food with meat, we always write the word "MEAT" on the bag to cater to our Vegetarian/Vegan fans.
- Are the plastic bags and containers you use safe/healthy?
When it comes to food, we try our best to only use bio-degradable plastic that is safe to heat up, similar to what's done in Japan's and South Korea's culture.
